Celebrate Your Italian heritage by joining the Italian Center!
Italian Center membership has its privileges:
- Members can rent the hall for their own social events
- Monthly Provincial Nights – members receive a discount and can also host a dinner with a theme of their choosing from any region of Italy
- Available college scholarship for family members
- Bocce League in the summer
- Golf League in the summer
- Briscola night in fall/winter
- Annual Bacile Golf Tournament – funds the annual scholarship
- Access to events throughout the year, such as dances, bus trips, raffles, the Annual Christmas party and enrichment/educational seminars, such as wine events, pasta-making events, etc.
There are two types of Italian Center membership available:
- A Regular Membership applies for a person of Italian birth or descent who is a citizen of the United States or who aspires to become a citizen
- A Non-Italian Membership applies to a U.S. citizen who is a spouse of a person of Italian birth or descent.
Our requirements and our process:
All members must be at least 18 years old and a person of good character.
A regular member in good standing shall recommend an applicant and vouch for his or her character.
Every candidate will be invited to appear for an informal interview. The committee will ask the applicant about his or her family background as it applies to membership qualifications and the reason for seeking membership. The Committee will investigate further any information provided on the application or the information obtained during the interview. If the Committee approves the candidate, the application will be referred back to the Membership Chairman.
Once approved, a nomination will be read at the next members’ meeting. A membership vote is taken and, if approved, that nominee will be officially inducted at the next meeting.
The annual membership fee is $250 plus tax. The fee is prorated based on the month of admittance.
